I have no words for people in this forum, suggesting the person to just be quite and not report about that nanny who has harmed a child who is just 8 months old...it is very sad, sickening, and shocking that a majority of you guys are giving such bad suggestion.

The collection so far shows 33.33% of the $60K target as of December 11th.
Friends I pledge a $500 donation as soon as the figures reaches 500 less than halfway ... i.e $29,500 and another again once the figure reaches 500 less of $60,000 i.e $59,500. Pappu or any of the core member please let me know once we touch this figures BY 31ST DECEMBER. Till then keep the marathon going.

A simpler suggestion would be to permit citizenship after 5 years of continuous lawful residence in the US...drop the word "permanent" from that law, and go straight from L-1 to USC, do not pass LPR, do not spend $10,000!:D
But seriously...It would actually fix a lot of problems for those who want US Citizenship, and because those would no longer apply for immigrant visas, those numbers would be available for those who do not wish to become US citizens.

My heartiest congratulations to IV and Core. Over the last 2 weeks I found that IV was the most reliable and quickest in giving us information.
I have a question for IV , is there a possibility of increasing annual GC quota or atleast reusing unused Visas from previous years.

In my opinion by 'Using the unused EB2 visa for EB3 ROW instead of EB2 India', USCIS is following the law as congress pased it...The law may be not fair but that is a different issue...If you want to change the law you have to get that done from the congress...suing USCIS would get you nowhere....
People seem to think uscis/dos is doing it wrong and it should be going horizontal rather then vertical. However, since people just keep getting mad at it because they think dos is doing it wrong but are not willing to do something about it.
The main thing ac21 did differently then before enactment of ac21 was that it allowed unused visas from ROW to be used by other countries on a quarterly basis and not in the final quarter.
One of the frustrations is that dos/uscis was very lazy in approving cases and allowing 485 filings and weren't watching because they allowed too manyh people to file (as soon as there are more applicatoins then visa numbers they are supposed to establish cut off dates). They had more applications then what they can approve long before they actually established cut off dates (January 2005). However, people got spoiled. Now they are going back and being very careful about it. This situation should have presented itself much before it actually did.

I will be there for this conference call.
Sorry folks for staying away from the communication going on in this thread for some time. I am personally going through some changes now. This Wednesday evening I came to know that my present job assignment is going to end shortly. (Fortunately, I have a new job offer). Now I am in the process of trying to get into this new job and it will take time to get adjusted to this new job. This means, I have to leave my H1b and use AC21/EAD to accept the new job. I had a conversation with one of the attorneys of Murthy law firm regarding all the Pros and Cons of my Job change. I documented the whole conversation and will be posting that to this site shortly for everyone else's use.
Even though I just posted this idea in this site, Guys please don't wait for anyone else's leadership. If you feel you can take this up, please do. It's your idea too. Do not give ownership of any idea to anyone. Why I am writing this at this point of time is I am going through some job transition for which I need a month or 2. So, my participation in this effort may not be up to my own expectations. However I will do whatever I can during this period and much more once I settle in my new job.

For some reason this does not sound right. If there was spillover of 20000+ visas (of course, this was an assumption), have we seen that many approvals? To me the approvals seemed normal, not much.

THIS INFO COULD VERY WELL BE CORRECT FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST.
DOS allocates visa numbers for each month, for consulates across the world and USCIS here to adjudicate 485s. They provide these agencies with the priority dates for approval + a limit. This could have been used up for the month of AUGUST.
The spill over from FAMILY CATEGORY can only be used starting from SEPTEMBER 01 2008. Otherwise it won't go with the interpretation of the law.
Also the spillover from EB1 (for august 2008 and anything remaining for the current year) will be applied on September 01.
So, what this means is: The numbers available as per the visa bulletin for AUGUST is over. Does not mean, it's over altogether.
