Your first post seemed asking only career wise successful folks who have patents/inovations and are affected by retrogression. I did write my story and then reread your first post, then thought to myself: my story is just similar to that Italian lady! The only thing different is she probably would have gotten her green card without much trouble, unlike my process.
Please let me know if you need ordinary story like mine, non-IT, mother and having been waiting for many years. Thanks.

Your story about how you are affected by retrogression/back log etc. It could be as simple as 'I have a BS in Engineering and am stuck in back log for 2 years and cannot fulfil my dreams professionally' to 'I have a PhD in Nuclear Science and US needs me coz there are only a handful of us!' Anything and everything works.
I have literally recieved stories of stay at home moms (because of H4 they cannot work) to folks who have been interviewed by MIT! The whole spectrum helps.....please please send us your stories...we need all the weapons when we go face the senators on behalf of IV

I was wondering why is it that you have so many red dots and so disliked in IV and your response below answers that question. You are a mischief monger who want to mislead people. The issue was never about which is better eb1 or eb2 or eb3, the answer is eb1 is better than eb2 and eb2 is better than eb3. The issue is how easy is it to port to eb2, infact if porting to eb2 was that easy everybody would have already done that. nobody is sponsoring green cards in this economy not even eb3 forget about eb2, not even desi companies are sponsoring eb3 perm petitions. In this age when there are reports that USCIS is sending out invistigators to look into even ac21 cases you are misleading people into porting from eb3 to eb2. Forget about porting as no one is even sponsoring eb3 perm.
As slim a chance as it is, visa recapture or some administrative fix like a remporary green card or relaxation of ac21 regulations like same semilar job restrictions is our best bet.
Eb2 will be better most of the time because many will not be eligible or Job position does not need Masters or 5 years of experience. So it will move fast though it may go back on october. So if possible try to port into EB2 will always be a good idea. CIR or Visa capture bill may not be possible atleast for an year or more. EB1 and EB2 are best bet for next 1 to 2 years.
Dream on about porting from Eb3 to EB2. On an average it is taking more 9 months to get labor clearence that too if it is eb3. if you are trying eb2 that is almost a definite audit. We have a case in our company which was stuck in audit (eb2) for more than an year now. our company and attorney are no longer filing eb2 (offcourse it is a different matter than they are no longer filing any green card application because of layoffs). So unless you are working for a desi "con"sultant company not many american companies (almosy none) are filing eb3 green card perm applications leave alone eb3 to eb2 conversions. We have reached 40%. To reach 50% we need $6000 more. If more people can contribute, we can reach this in no time.
The core and a lot of serious members have already contributed.
There are 2 mind sets of people on this forum:
1) I have contributed $500+ , I do not need to contribute $20 more, In anycase what is my
$20 going to do?.
2) I have never contributed, but I am ashamed of making my first contribution of only $20.
(Although that is what I am comfortable doing at this time.)
Both the above mindsets are wrong because If we have 7000+ members, out of which say 1000 have already contributed, that leaves us with 6000 members. If 6000 members contribute $1 each, we are at $ 6000 - 50% met.
Now all are not going to do it.
So you see $20 is still a good amount to start.

hello guys, i just went through all the 6 pages but still am confused.
This is how my name appears on my passport:
First name- ______(blank!)
Last Name- Ravneet.
one every US document including SSN, License, Job, its listed as FNU Ravneet.
I am on F1 visa, working on my OPT. My student visa just expired but my OPT-EAD is valid till june09. I feel very embarassed when asked" how do u say ur first name", I need to have it changed, could somebody tell me step by step the process involved.
I can drive to NY consulate and have my passport changed, but then how to change every US document, I mean would a expired US visa be a issue? My EAD is valid and I am legally in status. Please guide!
It is clear that FNU stands for First Name Unknown. Question is why did you allow this to happen even in your first document. Perhaps for passport you didn't bother because it is blank, but letting FNU appear as your first name in a document does not make any sense. First thing should be to try for the passport office, and hope that they will correct it based on whatever your documentation (school certificate etc) can support. Perhaps it might be that what is shown as your last name, is in fact your first name, etc.

Where in the bulletin you are looking at?
Spillover mentioned in the "VISA BULLETIN FOR SEPTEMBER 2008" can only be used in the timeframe Sept-01-2008 till Sept-30-2008.

2) Are we going to provide our mailing address as well as email IN THE EVENT that there will be a response to our questions?
3) What happens if there is no response?
