Two thumbs up to whoever came up with this idea. I would suggest some of us should apply for jobs in his administration since we already have our EAD. We can submit our resume on the www.change.gov site.:)

I am sorry, not a computer guy, but can mass mailing for funding alerts from IV be possible to "loyal customers only"? I am not sure I am giving the right idea/ thought. But what I am thinking is lets say this Administrative cost re-imbursment works, can we send to selected 1000- 2000 non-core member like anzerraja or khodalmd (for example) and ask them to send money? Like how these sticky works...just a solid click and send money sticky. Or I dont know ask everyone...see how many people come in and divide the money...it can be 100 or more.

I mostly get reds for being honest and stating the facts but that doesnt matter. I have to agree with Nathan, dont get emotional, lets see how to get out of this mess. As you stated, your employer didnt invite you, the only thing he should have done that he didnt do was recalled your petition when it became effective. He will get away with a warning and a small fine unless he has done the same as a pattern.
You can get him in real trouble, (of course but only by doing damage to yourself) by proving you paid the money for the H-1 and I sure here too, you would have given him a check and he would have given a company check to USCIS and you are going to make life more difficult for you than for him as proving you paid the money for the petitionis going to be very difficult.
This is the time to sit back and think what is your real goal. I guess, it was to come here and work hard and succeed not make life miserable for everyone involved. Trust me Honey attracts more flies than vinegar. Speak to your employers softly and try to find a solution. If you need help finding a job, I am sure there are plenty of avenues, especially with the market improving.
Now dont jump into conclusions, that I am another consultant or work for a consultant. I am neither.
HRP
These crooks are intelligent - they take money in Indian rupees and deposit it in their account named after his/her mother. Difficult to prove you paid for H1-B unless you have a recipt/transfer record here in the USA.

Whatever Kumar1 may apply to some F-1 students, but not to the cream of the crop.
Nobody asked me if I have immigration intent... they saw that i had I-20 from Cornell, MIT & UMBC and simply asked "Why cornell?". And before i could say anything she smiled and said "welcome to united states"... hah..suck on that
i bet that "jangli maharaj university" you got your diploma from is making your entire family very proud :):):):)
Hey, you lied to the American Immigration that you will return to the home country after Ph.d. And now you are talking about who should port and who not. Relax and think.

Credibility is lost if dissenting views are deleted. Let's agree to disagree AMICABLY.
Let's agree to disagree- I am very uncomfortable with the attacks on those who share dissenting views or who attack IV core team etc. Let's not forget that we're a democracy and thus entitled to share dissenting views - it is actually healthy.
On the other hand, at the end of a slugfest, we should make some progress. I have not seen any progress in all slugfests. My previous post has an example.
In my own very narrow/assinine/conceted/... way, progress is contributing to IV. Hence, I am focussed on progress in following.
Core is negotiating with a lobbying firm. I understand that QGA was paid 60K.
1. Where is the money for the lobbying firm?
2. Whose problem is it to arrange money for the lobbying firm?
3. How does discussing any issue in the forums help us in arranging money for the lobbying firm?

1) Google Ads are a must. When bloggers with 50-60 visitors make good deal of money out of it. IV with 25,000 members can definitely make much more, without any investments. Providing direct advertising opportunities to Immigration Attorneys, Law firms, Employers is also a good idea ( how ever they may demand IV curtail criticism coming from members !)
2) Paid membership is a great idea.Noise (general discussion, tracking threads) can remain free for all.
However, IV updates must be reserved for paid members ( who are paying to make these updates happen) or made pay-per-view. If it turns away a non-contributing non-active member, well, this is America. There is no such thing as 'free lunch' buddies.
25,000 non-contributing inactive persons is NOT a strength, that's one hell lot of liability in terms of web-site maintenance costs.
3) IV should delete all GREAT NEW IDEAS posted unless they are accompanied by donations. A lot of energy is wasted discussing these ideas pushing IV funding threads , updates etc. into oblivion. Will save our energies spent bumping important threads.

IMMIGRATION VOICE ACTION ALERT: 7/11/2007.
Dear Members:
Immigration Voice is organizing its first peaceful protest rally in San Jose, CA on July 14th in order to protest the broken system of legal high-skills immigration. This protest march is being organized to oppose the enormous visas backlogs in the employment based immigration system. This protest march is also intended to oppose the recent decision of USCIS to block the adjustment of status petitions in July resulting from an unprecedented out-of-order reversal on the part of DOS and USCIS.
Please join this rally in huge numbers to create more awareness in the Media, Congress and the Administration. We are already getting attention of Congress and the Administration due to recently published articles on the flower campaign in New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/11/us/11visa.html) and Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/10/AR2007071002055.html) on July 11th. If you cannot join but if you know someone who lives in San Jose area and who doesn’t know about this effort, please ask him or her to join this rally. I have done a lot of research on this topic and ended up in taking Tata-AIG. Few tips I can tell:
1. Try a high deductible: It brings down your rate significantly down. The way I saw it is, hopefully nothing will happen to my parents and for small things I have friends who can help them out. If there is something big I can afford a part of it and let insurance take care of rest.
2. have a few extra days than what your parents are coming for: say they are coming for 90 days get one for at least 120 days. Also make sure you get policies which are renewable.
3. Check on the insurance website if it covers hospitals in your area. I looked in one insurance where nearest hospital was 35 miles away from my home.
4. Look for ICU and surgical coverage closely as these two coverages are the most expensive and insurances tend to not cover it.
Hope these helps. Good luck with your parents visit. Let me know if you have questions :)

Post-Decision Activity
On August 30, 2007, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.
For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.
This is my 140 status from start, people say that Department of state is not normal. i opened a SR on 10/15/2009 and the status of my case is

kbsyed61,
Same thing is happening to my wife's RFE response too. We have submitted the response to her RFE (Birth certificate Affidavit) on 04/24. I have received an e-mail on the very same day from USCIS that thay have received the response and the case process resumed. I saw soft LUD's on 04/27, 04/28. I guess it will stop after couple of more soft LUD's as our PD's are not current. I assume we are okay as long as we do not get more RFE's on the same issue.:)
