Thanks for the effort.
I posted my comments and my story (with links to couple articles that were published sometime back about my case in a newspaper).
Lets add more stories. As someone already suggested lets concentrate on how our GC can contribute to the economy - buying a house/establishing a company/etc. I also quoted some of the recent studies that showed how immigrant entrepreneurs positively contributed to the economy (couple links from IV).

I agree with you we are at least not turning blind eye on this kinda false propagandas.
Fight for truth is a difficult thing but when fought with full enthu you will see the results(what ever they might be something positive).
I don't know what this petition is going to do. Atleast it will convey to CNN top brass that there are people out there who won't tolerate such lies. Maybe it won't do anything now but we must continue our efforts and oppose such false propagation of information whenever we can.

Hi Priti, thanks for the reply. However my fear is that what you say is not true. I am on my 7th yr extension of H1B and my lawyer has told me that once I apply for 485, I can NOT keep renewing my H1B. That is why he insisted on applying for AP.

Once you start using EAD your spouse's non-immigrant visa status(H4 status) will become invalid. That means once you work on EAD you will not be able to bring your wife here. If your PD is eb3 India 05 or 06 you dont have anything to worry about for at least a year or two.

it seems like a good question to ask
Aren't these pretty complex questions for them.
Why can't we ask a simple question like this?
1. Given the green card woes lot of US eductated scientists and technical talent are leaving US for their home country. This is helping the home country and increasing outsourcing market. What are you going to do about it? Are you going to do any thing to keep them here?

While I was waiting for GC, I finished MBA last year. I have a Masters degree in Comp. Sc. also. It has been 4 1/2 years with no clear indication regarding the LC alone. Hats off to the screwed up concept of BEC. If my LC is not processed in time, I might leave next year.
I am thinking of doing a part time job on H-1B also. If that pans out well, atleast I will forget the pain of GC for a while.

My wife couldn't do TB test since she was pregnant when we filed I-485 in Aug 2007. Now she is in India and be back only in the first week of June. If we receive an RFE for her TB test ( my PD is EB3-I Oct 2003), can we request an extension for RFE? Is that possible?

So you see, what really matters here is whether you feel you are entitled to something or not. If you don�t feel entitled to a fair immigration process that does justice to those who seek legal ways to immigration, then you probably aren�t entitled. To ask for something, you must first believe that you deserve it. And to show that you deserve it, you must ask it loudly and clearly from rooftops.Don�t predict visa bulletins, but work to change and influence the visa bulletin 6 months from now. as soon as the president signs on the SKIL bill, it will become a law, and uscis will implement it within 24 hours. However, regarding your point about PD becoming current immediately: since many MS degree holders are in EB2, their PDs will become current immediately. So uscis will be able to move EB3 very fast. If it doesn't happen immediately, it will happen within a couple of months.
I have an MS degree, so IF the SKIL is passed, my PD will become current. However, I guess the earliest time for SKIL to be passed is Oct, if it is ever passed.

As a couple of members mentioned that the core will not take any money from the funds members contributed, and its is really unfortunate that Aman + all the core team have to spend a lot of money out of their pocket. I am not a CPA but have seen that a lot of NOP do set aside administrative funds. That how the organization would work. The good ones will have only 10% of funds towards administrative cost. The BEST ONE LIKE IV has NONE (No money for administrative cost!!!). I am sure the core will not want to dive into the funds people are giving BUT can members send money seperately to set up an administrative fund.
I like khodalmd idea, I know not everyone is going to chip in, but if we have atleat 1000 people we can all send $100, so that atleast the core team dont take on the financial burden of the entire community. People sent flowers, a lot of people sent flowers...I am sure atleat 1000 appreciative members can shell out $100 for IV.
I am game for the $100 suggested by anzerraja (I think)

Its a law and if one follows it, there is nothing wrong in it.
As Chandu has mentioned, lets not interpret it the way we want. Its a law, and it gives us the option to have some kind of liberty. If you have not done anything wrong, and have followed the law, eventually everything will fall in place. Although during this journey we will have to face some tough challenges but in the end we will win it.

More likely cause is that the letter from the applicant notifying his new job never reached/registered in CIS systems.
Did the person send the letter in time? Was there any intermediate change in status between NOID and actual denial status? This is crucial to know before jumping to conclusions.

Employer A applied for i 140 in June 2006 and got approved in July 2006
Filed for i 485 in July 2008 never received FP notices
Project got over in last week of February 2008 and unable to find new project.
I switched jobs in last week of April 2008 using EAD - using AC21
Sent AC21 letter to USCIS in July 2008 about job change.
Employer A requested 140 revoke in August 2008.
Spouse got FP notice in August 2008 whereas I (primary) got NOID asking for new employment details.
Responded to NOID in a timely manner and on August 25th, 2008 - my status changed to "Response received - case processing resumed"
In Jan 2009 I got my FP notice.
In Jan 2009 - I travelled using AP and got back fine.
In March 2009 - I got a denial notice saying "485 is denied because 140 was revoked on August 2008. No appeal only MTR" - thisletter comes from a different officer id than the one who sent the NOID.
My question to UN and other gurus. Does it have anything to do with a changed interpretation? My lawyer says "This is a training issue - the new officer did not know about AC21 and as soon as he/she saw 140 as revoked - just ignored your other details on the case and issued a denial notice. This is very common and can be resolved using MTR"
