Since Visa numbers trickle down, the more visa numbers there are available, the more will trickle down to countries with high demand... recapturing visa numbers might be easier than taking a poke at per country limit.. IMHO...
I am thinking about future generations as well.
1) Remove per country cap.
2) Remove dependant number count
Recapture of visas is good but its only 1 time thing. Unless its automatic recapture by law.

thanks for explaining. my suggestion then is to go to school on F1 (maybe ?) and get a degree that can help him/her get a job that qualifies under H1b.
Our main goal to solve the retrogression problem.
Since you can study under H4 you cannot apply for F1 (My wife tried that already) :)

There is a rumor going around now. One of my colleagues here claims that he got a call from his attorney that there is going to be a new bulletin for july, released either tomorrow or on Monday. Can someone talk to their attorney and confirm this?
I'm unable to reach my attorney now.
Nobody knows anything - this is just a rumor for now. Though I love to see it be true, I dont think it will happen. Re-reversing the visa bulletin will get more attention than the original reversing and USCIS might try to avoid that. But after JULY 2nd I wont get surprised with anything now (regarding visa bulletins and USCIS's stupidity).

The approval notices of the H1B renewals and transfers that I got in the past, the I94 at the bottom had the same number as the one that was given at the port of entry while returning from the last abroad trip made prior to the renewal/transfer.
But in my case, the old I94 had the H1B written on it, as opposed to "parolee" as is your case. So I am interested to also know how your approval turns out.
I haven't received the physical H1B approval notice from my attorney yet so I don't know what's the I-94 # on that one although I doubt it will be the same. AFAIK each I-94 number is unique and different. Anyway, I don't think I-94 number itself matters any, just the fact that you have valid, not expired I-94 is sufficient.
I did not fill the forms for the transfer myself (the attorney did) so I don't know for a fact what he entered in "last manner of entry" but I'm 99.99% sure they must have said "Paroled" as they asked for my I-94 that had "paroled" stamp on it to attach with the petition.
Finally, I did not get any RFE.

It does seem that continuous criticism has started getting to the core team.
I want to let core team know that I am 100% in full support of IV. I encourage other people who have not yet shown their support to IV to do the same. They need it.
It is sad to see people who are probably frustrated due to their situations or lack enough patience venting their anger on IV core team. I for one, don't seem to get enough time out of my routine to really do anything and really admire core team members for spending so much time on this issue which is of course of so much importance for all of us on this website.
The people lashing out at core members need to understand that IV is not a shop where you pay money and buy results. It is an attempt to take voice of skilled immigrants to lawmakers, and that is all. You should not expect anything else. Please understand what is causing the frustration and address that issue separately. Leave the core members alone.
As for core members, I would like to say thank you from bottom of my heart. Seeing core members lashing out at other members is not probably the best thing for IV, however I can understand the frustration of core members.

In this day and age the news travel fast and if we expose wrong people it will help everybody. My friend told me that his brother in law wanted to come to US to earn his flying licence. He wanted to go to this one school in California. My friend left three messages with the school last year buy luckily no one returned his call so his brother in law joined a school in GA. You are right..it takes time and effort, and money too. We are ready to donate, if we are allowed to file EAD after 140 clearance immeditely, ,irrespective of EB-2 or EB-3. However, do not reply saying that you need to donate first as this is not how we think. There are a whole bunch of friends who are of the same opinion.
And what is this with so many reds besides my name..wat is this?? Ppl venting their own Frustration on others.
I read that filing EAD after I140 is already part of IV agenda. You can either donate or volunteer for it. Write to IV about it. I read that snathan had one idea and he volunteered his time to IV for it and got that done from USCIS. You can do it too. Most of us here have EAD so people who do not have EAD must take initiative.

All I have to say is .. do NOT bring parents or relatives to the US , period. Healthcare is pathetic and will rob you off tons of your hard-earned, precious savings. If you want to meet your parents/relatives, go to the home country but do not bring them here. I have heard far too many horror stories related to medical emergencies and the last thing I want is to put my parents in that kind of situation. In fact when my mother heard about the medical expenses here, she is terrifed to come here and wants me to come visit Pakistan instead, which I will gladly do.

Finally I am a US citizen after being 10+ years in this country. This is one of my biggest fulfillments and it means everything to me. US is just not home anymore for me, it is my country.

Yes status has been changed to : Current Status: Request for Additional Evidence Sent.
There is no information about RFE.
Also SOFT LUD on April 6 after RFE update on April 3. I wonder why they would update my cases twice in 3 days.
